What is the reason for *** Top rated providers disappearing or for that matter quitting when they are on top! With all the money these girls make I find it hard to believe such a thing would occur!

CarlM,
I would have to suspect that they get enough "regulars" that they do not need the hi visibilty any more.
Simple as that.

Just to play devil's advocate:
IF you got into any business with the goal of making enough $$$ for you do do X ( whether X is go to College, retire, buy a Ferrari, whatever ), and then you met your goal, you might just do what you set out to ( i.e. quit after reaching that goal ). If you gained some accolade which aided you in reaching that goal by either having the ability to substantially raise you prices, or substantially increase your voume, while you would do one ( or both of those ), it may not stop you from sticking to your plan. It might, however, burn you out faster ( remember the speach given by the Rutger Hauer character - Roy Batty ? - in Blade runner ??? ). It's often tough to live up to the expectations of many of the awards people recieve in life. I'll bet the "Top Ten" girls get more "I was disappointed" than anyone else ( well, except the porn stars ), from guys who have unreasonable expectations based on the accolades ( of course, there's always an argument as to what unreasonable expectaions are for a "Top Ten" person in any field, but that's a different conversation ).
Another point is - would you rather have them retire when they are no longer on top ? Should someone wait until they are "all washed up" before they bow out. This is a typical "sports" problem - do you try and squeeze out that last seaon ( and beyond ), or do you go out while you're still at your peak ?
Of course, all this ignores the real issue that you are getting at, but I must confess I have not noticed that there is a substantailly greater rate of retirement amongst the "focus group" than the "general population" in the field, which has always been known for sudden and untimely retirements.

that some are just seeing only "regulars" and a handful of new clients . . . given the safety from LE and "freak clients". I know some in hiding, sort of, to get away from stalkers. Kind of varies. Most retirees seem to be of the, "my boyfriend doesn't want me to do it anymore" variety. Haven't noticed too many retirees among the "top tier" in the past couple of years.
