Dear Nyczhopa:

I don't know the answer to your question, but I'm intrigued by your former familiarity with that establishment. I've never been to Acquiesce. Certainly, I've thought about it, but never did it -- in part because nearly all of the posted reviews I've seen about the place were so-so at best. I infer from your comments, however, that you hd some positive experiences. If so, may I ask you to comment? What turned you on about the place. Thanks!

i don't know if my experience is any indication
of current situation, so ymmv.

a couple of years ago, a man would get in for a fixed club fee ($+) and have 2 or 3 encounters with women there. On a good night, there would be ~ 3 to 1 m/f ratio. On a bad night (more common), there'd be 20 guys and 1-2 girls, so you would sit, wait, and drink flat soda.

They're located, accroding to their phone info, @ the 200 block of E 23rd St.

Have visited the "old location" on west 27th (?) and found it tired and threadbare, to say the least, but it satisfied a certain voyeuristic tendency.

Would be interested in experiences at the new location -- are they the same providers, etc.?

visited there recently. $.4 entry.

When I arrived (8:30) I was the only one there. Had session with VERY large black woman (only one there). CBJ to mish. Nothing special.

About 45 min later "manager" (slim Hispanic woman) anounced she was horney. Only other guy there passed, so I accommodated. Actually pretty good session. Excellent DATY, No BJ, mish to doggie to mish. Very vocal and enthusiastic.

The "staff" kept insisting that it was slow 'caus it was Sat nite, but by 10:15 (they close @ 12) when the place was still dead, I left.

Maybe it was a bad nite, but it was not very good.

Doubt that I will return.

In addition to the mediocre session described in my earlier post, I had another surprise. I recently received a credit card bill and found 2 charges on there that I did not make. The credit card co. said that my card was used. Obviously what happened was they took my credit card from my wallet while I was otherwise occupied, rang up about $$ in charges, and then replaced the card.

I know -- I'm an idiot for taking my credit card inwith me.

While I can't be CERTAIN that the management took it, there was only 1 other guy there. Also, the boincer left for a period of time and returned. While he was gone, the manager/hostess acted very nervous. At the time I assumed it was because he was gone; now I'm convinced she was afraid I'd leave before he returned, and find the credit card missing.

BTW, they returned the card before I left, so it wasn't until I got the bill that I realized what happened.

I say the following not because I doubt your story...in fact it sounds like the same kind of inference I would draw if it were me...but just as a suggestion...

If you are saying they used the physical card, then you should be able to verify the date it was used...and perhaps at the store the actual time it was used...

Anyway, sorry about your problem...yet another reason to take a pass on Acquiesce it sounds like...

I have been there only once, about four years ago (they were on the upper East side, then); and I loved it.
I'm bummed to hear the bad reviews of the new one.

Every so often, I'd come across there number, on the web; and, I'd always miss out (they were closed for a while; or it was the wrong nite, etc)

I still might have to try it. Does anybody know the cost?

I remember the $125 first timer; flat rate deal.

See the link above to a previous thread about this place....the conclusion was pretty much that it is OK for what it is. A cheap thrill, if that. Don't go in with high hopes. But for some, it is worth a look-see.

That is an odd reading of this thread and the other. Each is free to read and make up their own mind. But my take on it is that the *old* Acquiesce was OK for what it was...a cheap thrill. The *current* Acquiesce is something of a scam...you don't get even the marginal benefits one came to expect with the old place...and you might get your pockets picked while you leave your pants with the management. Wingo would have never let that happen!

Honestly, I really feel it is the other way around. The old place was really scammy. The new place, despite that one incident we heard about seems pretty safe- you get a locker or something like that, and unlimited fun. The old place was limited, very, very limited.

Nixie...have you actually been to both places? If I remember correctly more than one person that has been at both has reported here, and the report was that the new place is much more limited than the old place.

Fewer girls (new typically = 2, old typically = 5 or 6), lower quality, not as much action (new = 1 round only for some, old = always minimum of 2), fewer couples, poorer infrastructure, etc etc.

I've *never* heard of security problems with the old place (and it was open for years) and the new one had a stolen credit card reported within the first year. The new place, like the old place, depends on mgmt guarding the dressing area, and at the new place the 2 jokers in charge are terribly disorganized and leave that area unguarded for long periods of time.

But folks can read these reports for themselves.

I would have to agree with Rufus. I have been to both and the older one was better- more women, typically 5-6. The new one, which I been to 3 times generally had 2-3 women. One being there all the time, white, kinda chunky, long curly hair with a good amount of tattoos. Heavy use of perfume. Don't know whether that is because of her own scent or cause of the different men she was just with. She said she use to "visit" the old acquiesce as well. Although at the new acquiesce there was a really cute latina. She was young, about 19 with a cute face and smile. But she was on the shy side. Also the old acquiesce actually had swingers stop by. One time I was there, a couple stopped by and the woman wanted a gangbang. So one after another the guys banged her as her husband watched. She wasnt very attractive, but I was kinda fun watching her pull a train. At the new acquiesce, I have only seen one couple but they didnt want to partake with others, although they wanted to be watched.

The new acquiesce claims there isnt a 2 pop limit like the old one, although with the limited number of women I never tested that claim.

As far as the security issue is concerned, I believe the previous poster. At the old acquiesce, there was always the tall black guy with probably the world's biggest feet. (he was bitching to me one day that he had to pay tons of money to get custom shoes cause I believe he said they were a size 19). He was always with your stuff and I never had a problem with him. At the new acquiesce, everybody shares a "locked" closet and nobody watches it. There are no lockers at the new place as some poster stated. The managers, typically the skinny latina, would unlock it for you and leave. So one would have free access to everybody elses stuff. After reading what the previous poster said, I think the same thing almost happened to me. The first time I was there, I put my stuff away in the clear plastic garment bag they give you. But I'm a very neat person about this. I fold up all of my clothes and put the shoes in the bottom of the bag and then hang them up. When I was ready to leave, the hostess came to unlock the closet and I got my stuff and my pants were no longer neatly rolled up and my shoes were on the bottom of the closet with a bunch of other shoes. I did a double take and pretty much chalked it up to me being sloppy that day. But I did immediately check my wallet and counted my money and nothing was missing. Now I think somebody did go through my stuff. I dont know if it was the management or whether it was another customer who does have access to everybody's stuff when he is coming or going.

Oh and also the old acquiesce had much more "private" areas. The new one has only one curtained off area and only one private room. At least the old one had makeshift curtained off rooms.
