BillF has a thread titled "Smiles" or something like that, it also has the article talking about the bust.

Check the Onlive version of the Star Ledger via nj.com at

There was also a follow up today, check the archives once on that site.

How are we going to build Newark into a world class city without a tenderloin district?

City planners have it all wrong, ya have to follow the example of NYC, Boston, Cinncinnatti, etc.

First, Grow the City, good and bad.
Build lots of good
THEN crack down.

OK, I miss the old times sq. too, but in the bigger picture, its better, partly because cities like NEWARK could pick up the slack ( hint to city planners: LapDance Parlors = Economic Revival.

No, they didn't bust any johns, just the people that worked there.

The newspaper reported that 200 cops were "member" of this club; probably an exageration, but it brings me to my point:

Posters to this group and other adult sights are always afraid that if they give any info on really good places the cops will find out about them. But every time a place gets busted, there are usually cops in the place or working for the place, etc.

My point is: the average street cop is not stupid. He knows what goes on where without browsing through the internet.

So don't be afraid to give names and addresses of places, it helps us all.
