Quick paranoid LE question from a West Coast Monger

Hey guys, I'm a new monger from SF now living in NYC. I found this place through a little bit of searching and got to say I like it!

I've never mongered out here - is it safe to incall to a hotel with a provider that was previously reviewed on this board? Is LE currently active in the scene? Is it likely LE would setup a sting for 1 guy (I came up with the date/time)?

I'm trying to calm my nerves, it feels like the first time all over again.

Anything can happen, especially on a first meeting with an unknown person. This information is independent of the geography of where you are at the time.

If you require a minimal-risk situation you have to create it yourself, over time.

h4c is correct. I can recall at least half a dozen times that hotels/motels in queens were used to catch mongers in queens. LE posted provider ads on CL-ES and spent the day catching guys that called and showed-up. I also recall that the coppers had an apt. in a house in Ozone Park in Queens that was used as a trap for guys, again via CL-ES ads.

I haven't seen anything like this in more than 2 years, but it still can happen.

I have never seen or heard of cops getting guys or girls when the girls do outcall to the guys house or apt.

When LE does stings/busts like the above, it's planned in advance, has three or 4 times the officers needed on hand and almost always during the week.

Stings against Johns Happen All the Time. Always safer to see a well reviewed provider and/or someone based upon a personal recommendation. Dating off of classifieds like the old CL or Backpage is asking for trouble for a whole range of reasons. That said, some girls offer to flip when they get arrested and/or get scared. So, there are no absolutes... If your "Spidey sense" goes off, get the F_ _ K out!

I think better safe than sorry. I spoke to some providers about this recently. One in particular was saying that she also emigrated from the West Coast because LE in NYC is easier and that they usually don't come to hotels in the city. I think that's probably true but I don't have anything to back up my opinion. So, stay in the city, go to nicer hotels, and don't discuss money or sex when you get there. As a rule of thumb, I always talk about the weather, sports, the city traffic or some bullshit while I start kissing and feeling up the provider. Most of them know the drill.
