The Gaslite on Sunrise in Babylon has been closed down. There are signs from the Town of Babylon on the doors stating that it is an unlawful building/structure. If also states anyone caught inside the building will be charged with a misdemeanor and could face up to 1 year in jail.

There is a hand written sign above it from the owners saying they are sorry for the inconvenience and that all the gaslite girls will now be dancing at the Cafe Royale.

They must have really pissed someone off because they have been in business there for over 40 years without being closed down by the town and the town hall is directly across the street from the Gaslite.

Steve we must have run into each other at some point. I remember going back and forth between Bogarts and Gaslite on a summer night. I also loved the Ravens Nest.

I think I saw the Gaslite remodeled about three times. Remember when they had two separate stages at different ends of the bar?

Supposedly the code violation was for an Adult use facility lot line being within 500 feet of a lot line deemed a residential area. The Gaslite was allowed to reopen because they were grandfathered in because they were already established with all the proper permits prior to the enactment of that town code. This would also hold true for the Stonehedge.

Gaslite is open; was there yesterday to see the place, having never been there before. There were 4 or 5 patrons for the four girls present at 5:00, had a beer and watched Amber take her turn on the stage. She has an hour-glass form, not fat, with stupendous breasts and a firm butt; very good shape for a forty-year old. ....I'll never forget but will regret.
