Sorry to report Pubway on Central Ave. in Newark no longer has dancers. This great little bar had fantastic milage; no laps, but very friendly girls right at the bar. Rumor has it that the cops were pissed at the vast amounts of drugs being used there.

In a reply to my own post. I stumbled down to Ironbound to George & I. I'd say 10 - 12 dancers on a Wednesday evening. Most were of the quality you would find in the Moonlight; in fact, I knew several of them from that dive. I spent most of my time with a trashy looking blond from Europe somewhere. I couldn't understand any of her "English". Hmmm... maybe that's a good thing.

The milage is similar, but the quality of the dancers is poor. In fact, many of the same girls that work at Moonkight work at George & I. also, the hustle is non-stop and they don't take no for an answer.

Ahh.... the "George and I", home of the oldest go-go girls in the state. I actually find this place amusing, the decor is in a class by itself and I love the old time go-go stage which is about 3'x 4' and a good four feet above the floor. Heavy dancer circulation on the customer side of the bar - most of the time a cheap hustle and a sob story. I usually find myself admiring the barmaids - they are quite attractive. I wouldn't make this place a habit but every once in a while, I enjoy having a beer or two here. I heard this establishment was high mileage before it was sold to the current owners.
With the exception of the after hours club named(Sights?), go-go bars in the Ironbound section of Newark seem to be very well behaved - I think the ABC keeps a close eye on on these places.
