It's probably better than a 10th Ave Freezeout

Please pardon me for the utterly worthless post

Thank God, otherwise it would be a Slaughter on 10th Ave. (OK, OK, I'm REALLY old)

You never heard the Spiders from Mars?

Saying Mick Ronson did "Slaughter on Tenth Avenue" is kinda like saying Britney Spears did "Satisfaction".

that was Bowie's band when he was doing the Ziggy Stardust thing. was that one of their songs? i know Ronson was his guitar player. i was never a big Bowie fan...and am a little young to remember that stage of his career. i was born in '69. i was like, 5 when that stuff was happening.

Mick Ronson did "Slaughter on Tenth Avenue" on a solo album.

I like Bruce, I like Bowie, but I do have an answer to the question. I went to 5th Avenue about three months ago on a weeknight (probably a Tuesday or Wednesday), and I tried to open the front door-- it was locked. But as I was walking away, the bouncer must have heard me and opened the door and said: invitation only tonight. Then he said, but if you pay $20 door fee, you're in. He said there were private LDs tonight. I was curious about these parties so I spent the money.

It seemed like a typical night at 5th, but one of the bartenders confirmed that there were private LD areas for $20 this evening (not the same 20 as the door). I met Mary, a 40ish petite Russian, and we went into what was pretty much a tiny closet in the corner for an untimed, completely unregulated dance. I simply tipped her (I think I gave her 40) after a bbbj... other girls might have had a specific pricelist. We never discussed any quid pro quo beforehand. Sometimes I work out the exact arangement / sometimes no.... I can't say why.

The talent was not really any better than a typical weekday evening. I'd say there were one or two diamonds in the Paterson rough. I was there early so it wasn't very crowded-- more girls than customers. I imagine that after 9 it may have gotten crowded. I liked the private "closets," but that's becuase I found talent that I enjoyed.... if I hadn't, it would have been a waste of money.

That being said, there are now a precious few places where satisfaction is nearly guaranteed, with fair-to-good looking talent. Quite a down period in metro-NYC-mongering history.

thanks so much for the info. i always wondered....untimed for 20 bucks...not bad. i imagine when it gets busy, they may time things. how many dancers were there? any more than regular? lately, i've seen nothing more than 3 or 4 dancers per shift. i met a real wild, slutty brazilian (late 30's, blonde with a 7 body) at Trop who said she'd be at 5th on monday.

i wonder why they don't just do LDs all the time over there. it's the same owner as Micky Dees...if anything MD's appears to be in a more high profile area. i've never seen a cop within 5 blocks of 5th Ave plus the door guy could be a lookout.

There is usually around 15 - 20 girls during the lockdown parties. Dances don't seem to be timed. The biggest negative I saw at the last party I attended were the jacked up prices for FS. One girl wanted like $150 - $200.

did you tell her to go fuck herself?

that's kinda what i was afraid of. why pay a 20 dollar cover, 20 bucks a dance, plus whatever donation the girl might want, when the same services are available much cheaper elsewhere (AKA Mickey Dee's)?

Nah...I just came back later in the week and degraded her by offering $10 bucks for a handy at the bar. Of course she accepted...

By the way...I heard they lost money at the lockdown. So much food was made and bought and barely anyone showed. Not too many customers were partaking in extras.

What kind of food did they have?

Cita usually cooks up a bunch of stuff that makes the event look catered. Huge trays of food....I'm not sure what she had this time but you'll usually see stuff like sausage and peppers, ziti, chicken, etc.

That's sad if its true.. talk about hard times. Did anyone go? Who/how many ladies where there? I had to work and could not make it. I've never been to a lockdown would love to be part of one, sounds like fun.
