Guy shot dead outside of Sinners yesterday

Was trying to pass some time last night with a friend so decided to go with a buddy to Wild Things (haven't been there in ages). Well, needless to say, it was dead as a doornail there with only about 3 girls that I saw and a few guys in attendance.

*Side note... did u know that the former manager there (Auggie I believe his name was) was killed in a motorcycle accident in Elizabeth last week? I knew the guy too...shame.

**Back to the story... So upon entering, the door guys says, yeah it's kinda slow tonight. Someone got shot a couple of hours ago in front of Sinners. Guess it's good I already had a few drinks in me otherwise I might have just made a u-turn right there. However, with the help of alcohol-induced courage, I entered with my friend into Wild Things.

Ran into a couple of guys I knew there and talked for a little bit. Then I discovered the scary truth. According to him, a guy was shot in the back leaving Sinners by a drive-by. He said the guy was shot dead. Guess we won't be able to confirm this until tomorrow when the news hits but you know what? Why in the world is that place allowed to stay open? Even more, why do guys even feel the need to risk their lives going into that place. Didn't they have another shooting or stabbing not too long ago?

Between a couple of stories I heard about holdups and killings in the Ironbound, and this crap going on in Elizabeth, gotta say I'm on guard everytime I go out. Nothing like trying to watch some booty and worrying about the end of your life at the same time. Be on guard guys!

Or, stop trying to get action/cheap thrills at these shady places and start giving your money to the beauty queens at place like Lookers and Lace. Ah....on second thought, I'll take my chances with my life and shoot my load at the shady places. (ha ha!)

What I find amazing is that Sinners has one huge problem after another and Wild Things, which is right down the deserted street never has any trouble. Even if Wild Things has better security, there is really only so much you can do, and with the proximity of the clubs you would think the same people would be going to both clubs. Any thoughts?

I was at Sinners a few month's ago and it was very much a Black Club. It was very much as Charlies Angels in Rahway. In fact, I think the cover was 5 bucks or more. Inside, the dancers were mixed, but nonetheless awful so I would not go out of the way to go to the club. Prior and maybe currently the club management screamed Russian mafia to me.

Be contrast, WildThings is more a Latin based club. The clubs have been very different for a long time. Frankly, the area is very unique being under the bridge and I suspect most people who live in that area are there for a relatively short time. Was Auggie the old owner of Elin’s Queen of Hearts?

The manager was (and maybe still is) Cleaver but that guy Auggie was always there helping out. I just assumed he was a manager.

...and it is funny. Always trouble at Sinners but hardly anything ever at Wildthings. Just the same, hearing that someone got blasted right down the street makes you think twice about going in somewhere right down the street.

I haven't been there in a while now. I used to like Wild Things, and still do..but since they changed the traffic pattern and had the trouble at Sinners, everytime I have gone there there is a cop parked right at the turn to get to the bridge. Its kind of hard to enjoy a couple of beers knowing you have to drive that deserted street past a bored cop. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think you have less of a chance of getting shot than you do avoiding being stopped. Not to be a downer, but it takes a lot less than a rowdy night to reach .08.
