Just returned from Boston. I had some spare time on my hands so I roamed the streets a bit. I was in the Theatre District and I stumbled on 2 places on La Grange St. The 1st night I hit the Glas* Slippe* Nice little bar with one stage behind the bar. Only one dancer on the stage but many roaming the floor. Ordered a beer and quickly realized it was an all nude club. Very little tipping of the girl on the stage. The girls on the floor weren't hitting up for tips. They just walked back and forth and it was even hard to get their attention. Also walking back and forth every 1/2 hour was a uniformed cop!
After a while the bar tender came over and asked "Would You like to buy this girl a drink?" Suddenly there is a girl sitting next to me. Pretty, so I said sure!
$30 drink and ten minutes later its time for another drink. Nice chit chat, with an occaisional light touch of her leg against mine. When it came time for the next drink, I said maybe later, and boom, she was gone like a bat outa hell! The next night I hit Centerfold* across the street. $20 cover, packed bar, 2 stages with Babes shaking their thing! One corner had a small LD area which was open with 2 bouncers watching. $20 for a 5-10 min LD. Basically air dances. Lots of girls roaming the floor but not one asked anyone for a dance. You practically had to tackle one and then ask her for a dance. It felt so weird! Almost like they didn't want to dance! After 2 nights of Boston I actually missed the dollar parade and a sleazy club where a dancer would actually sit and talk with you. I missed Showplace and Bottoms UP! I should have just stayed home. The next time I'm whipping out my 500th dollar bill in ten minutes time I'll just think about Boston and keep my mouth shut.

PS. If you want to make some easy money so your can affort sitting next to the girls drinking $30 kool-aid, I own a busy bridge in Brooklyn that I would be willing to sell to you cheap. Put some tolls on it (after you buy it from me - cash only please) and you will really clean up.

You know you are right. Lot of money for little mileage, but I was really bored and there seemed to be not much else to do so at the time, I really didn't mind. Let's see, 10 minutes sitting with a rather nice looking girl in Boston or sitting at the bar at Showplace and blowing the same amount of money just to have 10 Russians shake their shriveled udders at me for 10 seconds each. Hmmmmmmmm, which would I rather do? Besides, back in the early 60's I did buy a bridge, the GW and I did put up tolls, so cash is no problem. All kidding aside, while I was in Boston I did miss the NJ clubs, probably because there is at least some hope of mileage.

The nice thing about NJ and Boston is Connecticut is in between. Some great clibs and AMPs on the way

Ah .... the remains of the "Combat Zone" In the '70s, that area was packed with bars and LE just let the place do it's thing. Gentrification has now made it "the Theater District."
