There's actually a lot of debate about that even amongst the experts. One psychologist came up with a very unpopular theory in the TG community which is that for a certain percentage of TS's, it's really narcissism and they just like the way they look as females.

There might be something to that. The TS's I have known have all been obsessed with their looks. They'll tell you that it's because it's a full time job for them to look like women, but it's what makes it hard to have an actual relationship with one.

The psychologist cited by Slinky may have a point. But one does not have to go that far in order to agree with Jakebx that most, if not all, ts's are obsessed with their looks. Clearly, as a group, they are narcissistic.

Whether this narcissism is what leads to their becoming a ts or is an effect of the transformation or just goes along with the general personality structure is less important to a potential monger, it seems to me, than the likelihood that he'll have to deal with a self-obsessed provider who may not be able to relate to him very well. From what I've seen, many ts's are so self absorbed that they have a hard time even faking interest in a monger for more than a few minutes. The result is that even when they are good-looking, they often are not very appealiing.

I'm not suggesting that there are no interesting or sexy ts's. But this is certainly a group where it's BUYER BEWARE.
