A good pal called me last night as I was dropping a young dancer friend of mine off at her Queens club.

I wasn't planning on hanging out.

But we agreed to meet, even though I was in Brooklyn and he lives in the Bronx.

I consider my friend, R, a Bronx version of Gavycrav, because I have witnessed some of his exploits in strip clubs.

Well, maybe not an exact replica, since Gavy seems to really put the x in excitement.

But close enough for me. Of course, maybe I need to get out more.

Anyway, despite the raging storm Saturday night, I headed out to the Bronx, we met up and headed down to Al's Mr. Wedge in Hunt's Point.

I always enjoyed myself at the Wedge, since the girls were mostly Latina, thin to medium built and quite friendly, even though they seem to pester you every 10 minutes for a LD.

But when we frequented the Wedge about two years ago, it was filthy.

I was afraid to pee there. It was dark, the front door man was missing teeth and one of the women bartenders looked like she could be a linebacker for the Bears.

I was surprised by how much they cleaned it up. You can actually see the floor now. You can see the tiles in the bathroom. They have soap, paper towels and even toilet paper.

The talent was mostly AA women, ranging from caramel to deep chocolate, petite, tall and thin to thick and to God Damn, look at 'dat azz.

I waited until two Latinas showed up.

One is named Jackie, 5'5", dark hair, has to be 36C. She has nice eyes, is friendly and not money hungry at all.

The other one is a blonde, can't tell if the drapes match the carpet because she keeps herself shaven.

I forget the blonde's name, but she is about 5'7", nice body, about a 36B, but they look great in her bikini tops. She's been there for three years, looks tired at some moments, but still a looker.

This girl has lips like Angelina Jolie, which is why I suspect she can hustle the cash as well as she does.

I did not get a LD, since the Wedge demands you pay $10 to a security guard to go behind a Big Screen TV for some privacy. Another $20 goes to the girl.

Without the payoff to the SG, you get your LD in the club proper, glaring lights and all.

The good news is that some of the women seem to make side deals, something I rarely considered in this place.

Again, since I was not planning on going out that night, I just tipped a dollar here and there. Well, actually, more than a few dollars here and there.

But I got three pairs of mostly exposed breasts in my face for that.

I had a nice time, except for when one dancer marched up to me as I was sitting at the bar and practically demanded a tip. I wasn't feeling her so I ignored her.

This nut had the nerve to stroll by 5 minutes later and punch me in the arm.

And then offer to fight me five minutes after that.

If I had 200 singles, I would not have given her one.

Maybe some of you may feel I was wrong for not tipping her, but I believe that if I'm not enamored with a dancer, I don't have to tip.

I just don't disrepect them by rolling my eyes or turning my back.

Anyway, I know this is nowhere near as entralling as the posts I regularly read on here, but give me time.

If I find some more interesting places to frequent, then I should have some more entertaining nights.

I was at club 516 in Old Bridge, NJ a while back. They had two dancers that night and one of them was really friendly and personable so I was tipping her. The other one was an uogly skinny one with small tits and an attitude, she walked up to me and asked for a tip for doing nothng. I just ignored her and she calld me a cheap skeat and threw $2 a me. I said thanks and ordered another beer and since it was $1 beer night, I had two free beer. The other dancer sat next to me and we bullshited a while and spent all my tip on her instead. Some of these bitches are so lazy and thinks that you owe them just because you went into the bar.

Brykster,

Thank you.

Yeah, The Wedge has that awful $10 cover.

But it is cleaned up.

We got there early, around 10-10:30 or so.

Place had four or five AA women.

More came around 11-11:30.

Eventually, three Latinas showed.

I have never heard of El Coche.

Where is it? And is it nice?

Where is it? And is it nice?

Hunts Point Ave and Bruckner Blvd. used to be nice years ago. could always get a barstool handy for 20...but that was during the Dinkins administration. not sure what's up now.

I agree with you.

Which part? That you don't have to tip a dancer if you don't "like" her?

I'm mildly interested, because when I used to go to SC's just about all dancers would get a dollar or two after each set.

Definitely made for an early exit for me if I only had 40 or 50 bucks.
(Whether I wanted to go or not).

I think Lamont's mostly talking about strippers who walk up to you or sit next to you at the bar. If you stand or sit by the stage, I think you ought to slip a dollar to the dancer when it's your turn for a litttle one on one.

Then again, the SC's I used to go to down here in Pa/SNJ were pretty low mileage compared to what routinely gets mentioned about NNJ and Five Boroughs/CT SC's.

Just a little gliding across her ass or tits.
(Probably why I quit them and started w/ the pros.)

a) I don't think you must tip every single dancer.

b) The bigger problem I have is when the girls think that they should get ipped every 30 seconds by some guy. So, if there's 100 guys in th eplace, they go from one guy to another. But if there's 2 guys in the place, they think that each should tip them once a minute. I think in general, on average, a dancer is "entitled" to one tip per set per guy. Anything after that is "gravy".

c) Funny thing: I went to Johnny A's this past weekend. The girls were so much better looking than the other clubs we went to, you couldn't even use th esame scale, or every girl at teh other clubs would have been 1's. But the 8's , 9's and 10's there were MUCH cooler about not getting tipped than the dogs at the other places were.

This is one reason why I try not to sit at the bar.

I don't mind tipping dancers, but I take offense if they saunter up and just stare at me like I owe them a fancy dinner.

i NEVER EVER EVER sit at the bar...and as anyone who reads the Rah Rah's thread knows, i will only tip a dancer once...unless she is the one i want an LD from. there is no tip parade for me. i don't subscribe to the notion that i am somehow obligated to support these women. i only pay for what i want and what benefits me. if i want to donate to a charity, there are many that are far more worthy.

Sorry, I've been away a long while fellas.

I know this thread is ice cold by now. but I agree with brykster.

I try NOT to sit at the bar anymore.

$10 at the door -- ok, fine -- but $10 to some security guy every time you get a LD? what's up with that?

Blackbeard,

I guess they're money hungry.

I've been back to the Wedge again since then.

Still the same.

And I still refuse to tip the security guard.

So I haven't bought a lap dance yet.

The Wedge is bad like that. When I was there it wasn't anything more than a takeout dispatch center -- I think it's changed some since then.

I wouldn't pay $10 for each time I went behind the screen. Screw that. $10 the first time, maybe, but that's it.

I always feel uncomfortable and give in to the annoying ones that stand there expecting a tip..I really hate tipping ugly girls that I have no interest in. I know they are working and I respect that but I just don't get strippers that are out of shape and look like shit expecting singles for standing there holding there fat ugly tits....I just wonder some times if there weren't suckers like me who give in to their shit if they would either lose some weight or stop stripping..

....I just wonder some times if there weren't suckers like me who give in to their shit if they would either lose some weight or stop stripping..

unlikely on both accounts. last night at Rah's i noticed that there were only 2 or 3 dancers getting any lapdance money...while the remaining 3 or 4 pigs seemed content begging for singles or maybe getting a 5 for a barstool handy. i really don't understand it myself. i mean with the $25 they have to pay the agency for the van ride, i can't imagine their takehome is any more than 50 to 100 bucks a night. they can do better than that doing housekeeping. plus, they must suffer through guys laughing at them, refusing to tip them while they tip the younger, prettier dancers. it's fuckin' humiliating.

that being said, some of these "off" dancers cater to a fetish crowd. there is a dancer at City Lights in Yonkers whose gotta be approaching 70 and she has literally survived for several years on this one freakish, elf-looking guy who comes in three times a week and buys 100 bucks worth of low-mileage LD's from her. i guess it takes all kinds...plus, never underestimate the power of beergoggles.
