I know there have been many posts about Ficha bars in Jackson Hieghts and Astoria, but are there any bars where Irish girls hang out? I love their accent. I'm in Woodside & Sunnyside all the time, and I've seen a few Irish hotties there. I've been to ******* Hall and Blooms on Qns Blvd, are there any others?
Check that Blooms burned down a while ago.

Irish Hotties? Isn't that a contradiction of terms? LOL... Just kidding, guys. You know, Sidetracks on Queens Blvd had an array of ladies back in the day.
There is a place called "Saints and Sinners" on Roosevelt and....hmmm...57th? Street (on the northwest corner). Right across the way, there is a pretty happening joint called "Sean Ogs" it is on Woodside Avenue, right near a bank. Same cross street as "Saints and Sinners" (again, mid to late
50s). Actually, "Sean Ogs" has a lot of hotties and I don't even like Irish girls.
Now there is a place up the block from Otro Rollo where I hang out called "Nua". It is on Broadway in Astoria in the mid-40s.
Hope that this was helpful,

Check out the bars in the Bronx where a lot of the Fordham students hang. Back in the day there used to be a lot of good ones. The names escape me now.

try cuckoo's nest in woodside, just off roosevelt. it's pretty much all young irish expats and it's definitely a singles bar where you can use your american accent to your advantage.
lots of young irish girls (emphasis on young!).

I live right by that place. I've never been into the bar scene, but perhaps I'll try to pick up there. All I want is a one-nighter. Actually a regular thing is fine, but who wants to buy dinner beforehand?

I've had some luck there on Saturday nights getting a few #'s, but not a one nighter.
But if you live nearby, you have nothing to lose.
Some very hot Irish girls though.

Gavy,
Trust me, there are plenty of very hot Irish girls, but you have to go to Ireland to see them.
And generally speaking, they are much more educated, cultivated and articulate than the shallow latin women found at the places we go to. They can get old after awhile.
Sometimes, a man needs a woman who's mouth can be used for conversation as well.

B,
I agree conversation can be a turn on for some guys. I love the accent these Irish girls have, it's so sexy. BTW, I was at a pub on Queens Blvd (I don't remember the name) down the block from ******** Hall. I saw some real hotties in there.

Shallow women? LOL...they're all looking for something, no?
I really find Irish gals as being plain, though. But, of course, that is preference. I ran in Woodside for a long time and had my experiences. I think the thing that really turned me off to Irish chicks is my best friend's wife. She sunk her claws into him from jump. This guy was probably the most fun person I have ever met. Would do all sorts of crazy things: arresting people (he is not a cop), calling hookers to his apt., taping his sexcapeds and then bringing it to the "Claddaugh" (now Tres Coronas on 52nd and Roosey) for all to enjoy...there was a lot more. Then...he met Karen...ugh...and I lost a great friend.
But, maybe he needed to calm down. I guess it was time or HIM to settle down. When they got married, I didn't see it this way. Man...I could go on and on...sorry.
Enjoy the Irish hotties...

I know what you mean, I've got a couple of college buddies who are married (not to Irish girls) I'm lucky if I see them anyomore. Another friend just disappered of the face of the earth.

Yes, she used to advertise on UG a long time ago. Parting was bitter sweet.
I'm sure she's no longer in the biz.

Stopped in here a little after 8 o'clock last night. Local crowd of bikers, Irishmen, etc. But, the barmaid was a pretty blonde named Sara. A little too tall for my liking, but she was very pleasant and had some huge breasts. I was kind of feeling it; then again, I was 6 deep by the time I saw her.
Go for it,

A few decades ago, the Irish were plentyfull. Irland now has a decent economy so they have no reason to come to our beloved NYC.
I ran into a few of them this summer upstate, who were working at summer camps and hotels for the summer. They were right off the boat. Real cute acients, and kind of inicent. I did not find them all that hot, but they can hold there own at the bar.
I would always ask them if there were from England, to watch them get angry.

Woodside's Irish population has dramatically changed in the last 5-7 years. Still a wonderful neighborhood, but it is becoming more and more Asian, Latin and white for the last 7 years.

I am not crazy about the accent; I rarely find them that attractive; I love your move asking them about their "English" accent. Who would have pegged you for a ball-buster?

I like the way they repeat themsleves - Thats your car, is it. You like to drink rum, do you. I find Irish babes kind of cute, not all that sexy. I hung out with two of them this summer, I took them to the City on there day off, they slept over my house. Took them to Coney Island, an Irish pub in NYC... No action, did not expect any.
They mentioned how in Irland when they go to a club, the drug extasy is everywhere, you can pick up on the floor and take one.

THis just might qualify for "Line of the Month". I'll have to confer with the "Powers that Be", but "40-dog" might still be ahead. Tough call...

That couldn't be further from the truth...
If the Euro was so much strong than the dollar why wouldn't they take advantage?

Ace - What I meant by my post, as the NY Times mentioned, is that before Irland's economy was bad. Thirty years ago, Irland was basicly a third world country, so the Irish would come to the US in herds, looking for a better life. This is no longer the case, and is the reason why the Irish "of the boat" population has vanished from NYC.

I definitely here you loud and clear. They weren't buying condos in Mahattan 30 years ago, more like living 10 to a three bedroom in Woodside/Sunnyside.

I understand what both of you are saying. Just keep in mind that the same guy that was willing to live in a studio sleeping with 10 other irishmen trying to make a living decades ago is the same guy buying nice real estate manhattan these last few years. This ain't the upper class of Ireland making these investments. These are the bartenders and carpenters that are living a blue collar life in Ireland. The amount of Irish working folk and laborers that are coming over is still strong...you're just not seeing them as much because they're starting off in better neighborhoods.
Just an aside, I'm not offended because it has nothing to do with me. But for your own safety, I'd be very careful making jokes about confusing English with the Irish. I know many Irish men (and even women!) that wouldn't hesitate to throw down over that joke. Think along the lines of telling a Cuban you're a big fan of Castro.

Ace - 20+ years ago, the carpenters and bartenders, were not able to make a living in Irland, this is why they migrated to NYC. There may be Irish still migrating to the USA, but not the same as in the past.
