An alleged Cape Cod-based prostitution ring that serviced several states across New England has been broken up by police.
FALMOUTH, Mass. (AP) -- Falmouth and State Police yesterday arrested two Falmouth woman, charging them with prostitution and keeping a house of ill fame.
Investigators working with the Cape and Islands district attorney's office took 38-year-old Stacey Smith and 49-year-old Anne Phillips into custody after a year-long investigation.
Police say they seized computers, log books and ledgers containing names of alleged clients. An undisclosed amount of cash was also seized.
Phillips says she's innocent, telling the Cape Cod Times that she doesn't know how authorities came to associated her with a prostitution ring.
