I had a discussion tonite with a colleage, and he said that he didn't see anyone who had been in the business for longer than three months. He said that no one could provide a GFE type experience for longer than that, because they would get burnt out. I asked him if he didn't think it depended more on the person, how many clients they saw, etc, but his answer was still "no".

What do you think ??????

obviously he hasn't been playing too much...

it all depends on the person just like u said slinky

by the time i find out about a provider, it seems like she's been with everyone who posts except for me. i usually like to do my research before seeing someone which means usually that she's been around for a while and i've found that there is both types of women who've been around for awhile-burnt out and not burnt out(i don't know how but i don't question it, just enjoy it).

actually badz I disagree.
I think it's natural for the majority of providers that as their volume increases, both on a total number of sessions and sessions per day basis, that the type of service they can provide diminishes. Unless a provider paces herself(eg limits the number of sessions),it seems highly difficult to put out the energy needed to sustain the level of service they may have provided when they first started. While I understand that professionalism might drive great performance,it's just plain human to slow down.
Then you have the psychological barriers that must be addressed as the volume of sessions increase. Since I assumeone of the the primary motives of most providers is to maximize income, there is a conflict between pacing oneself and maximizing earnings.
While I don't have personal experience with a single provider in the beginning of her career and then after she reaches a certain degree of success/volume,from reading reviews of popular ladies there seems to be some support for this notion.

Be interested in hearing the ladies perspective.

some girls can do it some can't. 3 months is not a lot of time. i don't think i've ever seen anyone who was in the biz that short of time.......and i've had tons of great experiences.

dicer: I agree w/you. Not having the cash to stand point, I rely on my buds to sniff out the good from the bad.

Now while I was posting on *** SPa I regularly posted reviews on new places I had gone. Too much margin for error on the FS side.

pswope,
it makes sense of what you said...it's all about pacing one's self...which brings up another point...by cutting down the numbers of clients, she's less likely to get burned out quickly. but OTOH, the lady has to adjust her rates accordingly, thus making some of us whine'in and bitch'in about not able to get that moan'in.... (of course not me!)

pswope

badz
the other part of it is this
by doing fewer sessions, the lady can provide better service and thus justify higher fees.

badz
12-15-2000, 11:12 AM
pswope,
hmmm...interesting where this is going... how bout i say...it's okay to justify higher fees when the service is better, but when some (not all) only see what other's "justified fee" without knowing the service involved, they might start thinking that "the higher fees" is becoming the standard. so you will get the adaptation of "higher fee" without justification of services.

nerver mind, think i'm going off the topic here...

Just wanted to start off by saying Hi!!! Now to the real meat and potatoes about the topic at hand!!!! Provider burnout is a very real phrase, it is something that is inevitable and no matter how many sessions or price increases nothing will change. The real way of dealing with it is what I am doing. Taking a couple of months off, but of course making sure you put your money way before you can even think of taking a break. Then focusing on getting yourself back. We do give 100% of ourselves and sometimes we look to others to replace what we had lost, that can be fustrating, but eventualy we realize that we must rely on ourselves not others. I am resting well and enjoying my child and the holidays and I can say it is a real joy to feel the old magic coming back. Just thought you might want a provider's point of view :0)

Great actors and actresses can reprise the same role, night after night on Broadway without burning out. I would burn out after one performance. We all have different capabilities and tolerances, and painting life with too broad a brush obfuscates some very fine details that are worth appreciating.

And BTW, it is always cool to be posting under the incredible Valerie of New York. Actually just being under Valerie is pretty cool.

Wait! You mean these things on my chest? Hey, I like to be on top of things....lol.... Well ok, then I will be submissive here and there. Being on the bottom sometimes ain't all that bad.

As for the response to what I said, yes things do have to slow down every couple of months. I am learning that the hard way (no pun ~smile~) Any one want some rabbit stew?

Well, since i was invited, i might as well interject into this thread, since it is something i have recently posted quite a bit about on ASPD. Hopefully however, saying it this time i will be able to refine the points a bit more :)

I have recently begun a rather interesting journey "Back to the Basics" as i call it. When i began in this industry on the web, i really had no clue what was expected of me on Usenet and the boards. Possessed by more than my fair share of eagerness to explore what my guys really wanted, and my natural passion for learning, i jumped in with both feet, asking question upon question of the guys. I was more than a little naive, had just bought my first computer, and was WAYYYY to quick to let myself get pulled into flame wars. Then the reviews began. At first, i had mixed feelings about them. Some were VERY flattering. Some were actually rather embarrassing due to the graphic nature. But they were all pretty good, and while i shuddered for a minute after reading my first "mixed" review (a guy giving me high marks for service and attitude, but stating i really wasn't his type), I soon learned that that review actually brought me more business than many of the "glowing" ones had. If you stay around long enough, your skin begins to thicken, and you learn what to pay attention to, and what to just ignore.

The downside to all of this, was the effect the reviews had on me. I had never seen this as a career. i was just a girl who had gotten lucky enough to have a really fun and carefree life AND get paid for it!!! Then, the reviews started to change my outlook....and the "Top 100 syndrome" struck. I began to see myself as a "professional". After a lot of pressure from some of the other local girls, i raised my rates. The emails picked up to between 200-500 inquiries a day, and the phones rang nonstop. My life became more and more stressful...and less and less carefree.

A few weeks ago, i took a long look around, and realized i had became the one thing i had always feared the most: a Professional. So i decided to ditch it all.
I posted my message on the Houston board, and said "to hell with it". i began a major site rebuild (that is still not up...but will be once it is completed), and reduced my rates back down. I explained this once, and it seems like people "got it"...so i hope you will here too. The more money is on the line per hour, the more i feel like a "High Quality Show" is in order. That is the problem. i gained the popularity that i did because i DIDN'T provide a show. i was just me. Ok, so i have more than my fair of naughtiness and kink. I am a bedroom submissive by nature, and having men tell me what to do half the day IS my idea of a great time. But with the publicity, comes the client imposed image. i regret like hell the day that first review labeled me as "charming, sweet, and tender". ok, so i have a heart. I like to kiss. i can talk about something other than my hair, nails, and the last guy i went out with. But more importantly, i just like to have fun. I like to be spontaneous. i like to be BAD!!!! Being a "Professional" totally screws that up.

Burnout can come in many forms guys....but most of the ones i have seen revolve around one thing: being pushed into a mold that you just don't fit. Some burnout because they really don't like themselves much, or are ashamed of what they do. Some of us burn out because we LOVE what we do, but get tired of being pushed into a "nice girl" mold.

I can only hope that comes across as intended...for the point is one you might find helpful: if you want to avoid provider burn out....try not to push them into a "niche". Let us just be who we are.....for the real to life enthusiasm and love of the industry comes to many people (male and female alike) from the VARIETY. If every guy who sees me shows up wanting the exact same session the review outlined the week before, it will be impossible to avoid falling into a "routine". Maybe some ladies like having a script in hand before things take off...but me??? Nope. I prefer to just take it as it comes.

It will all work out in the end :)

Great post. Honest and insiteful. Hopefully will inspire further open dialogue from both sides.
fwiw, the consensus of opinion seems to be that you're awesome in the sack. Can't get that type of kudos unless you really care. That puts you in a distinct minority.
And remember,if the people you respect, return that respect, the rest is Bullsh*t.

Honestly, there are some in the industry who are driven by the top list. I know of some Amber that would stop at nothing dear. I was the victim of it. I agree that being professional or carefree is a choice. Sometimes you need to be professional. That can save your butt from the crazies, yep experienced that too!

I choose to be carefree and not go by any 'script' if the chemistry is right hey we kick it, if not well then he has to understand that. I prefer to feel the sensual side. There are some in the top that earned their position, I certainly did! I never got anything for nothing as my friends know here, and just because I am in the top five, hey well I have been on that site for 3 years. i still work my hardest, as the day I first started. No wonder why I needed this break! I have not taken one in 5 years of working non stop, day in day out. Well I can say never again. I am going to enjoy what is left! (I have another job besides being a mommy)

Guerilla marketing means radically different than the norm. while many escorts use the conventions that ignore the reality of what Johns are looking for, yours is at once funny and honest.
who knows, maybe it'll start a new genre of escort reality based advertising.
