Anyone remember this place. I am not sure if it still exists. I was only there once years ago, but I was blown away by how wild it was. I was with a bunch of people I knew so I wasn't looking for any extras, but based on the action going on on the couches, and the way the girls were talking, it seemed anything was possible. It was somewhere near W Bway and Church. Very discreet.

GONE !!
It was on Walker between Broadway and Church . Owned by Dominique, who also owned the Harmony Theaters on Church and on 22nd Streets . Herr Rudy had them all closed down in the Summer of 1998

Once I was there and was told I had missed (by one night) an appearance (on stage) by Drew Barrymore. Anyone ever catch her there?

It was actually originally opened by one of her former dancers which irritated the shit out of her, even though it was more of an erotic performance art bohemian joint than than budget bordello like the Harmony around the corner.I don't know what the circumstances were surrounding Dominique getting control.
JJ,you know as much as anybody here about the Harmony.Do you remember Ute(Choo-Choo) opening the place around '92-'93?

I went a few times in '95 and always liked the vibe. One night the semi-attractive and very acerbic MC was asked by one of the patrons to show her pussy. "No, I'm not a prop comic" was her offhand reply.
I distinctly recall a very young and very hot girl dressed in a Catwoman-type rubber suit that I was dying to get a dance from, but ultimately the queue of pervs in line before me was too long so I had to leave unfulfilled.
I think the Blue Angel as a concept is still around, though it travels from club to club. I've seen them advertise in the Voice.

I remember Choo-Choo opening the place . I went there once when she owned it . The place was a more "Arty" type experience, with an emphasis on stage shows , like girls doing fire dances and what-not . It was hard to get an audience for that type of thing , with the Harmony right around the block.
Plus, Dominique didn't like any competition, so somehow she had the place closed down, and took it over . I never went after Dominique took it over; I understand it's main purpose was to stay open later than the Harmony on the weekends

This is something completely different. After Blue Angels closed, I saw and ad for something with the same name in the East Village. I think this was in 1998. I went to a midnight show and it turned out to be this vaudville type show, including comedy, a dominatrix, a chick-with-dick, and some other stuff that I did NOT come to see. Each performer then passed the hat around the audience.

I saw her there once. She had been there several weeks before and had supposedly taken off some of her clothes. When I saw her she was really drunk and got up on stage and yelled "who wants to see my tits?" For some reason she didn't show them but stumbled off the stage and out the door but not before tripping, falling down and knocking a plant over.
The Blue Angel was one of my favorite places. The girls were hot in an artsy way and put on good shows. I remember one in particular with an STP tatoo on her back. The full contact lap dances weren't bad either.
Those were the days.

Was also known variously as the Melody, renamed after various busts. Before it was on Church Street is was in three other locations, the first being just off Times Square. Now I go back a ways, and in that original Times Square location back in the beginning of the 80s things were wild. A seven dollar (yes seven George Washingtons) door fee and 3 minute lap dances for one buck with full roaming. Even saw DATY done to dancers on stage. Guys spanking girls in the isle (who was that guy wearing the cap? Anyone know?) What a wild time. Those were the days my friends, those were the days.

Yes , those were the days ! I was a youngster then, but since I looked a bit older I was able to get in . The place was wild back in the 80s!! Girls would have lines of guys waiting to eat them out on stage , and handjobs were everywhere.
(BTW, if you're thinking about the guy in the fur cap who always sat in the front, that was Frenchy. I believe he was Canadian, and would spend most of his time there buried in a beaver )

The Church street location of the Harmony was great w/ a mix of regular bohemian type girls and pros. I liked the little stage downstairs, although the bathroom left something to be desired. *gag* I remember it fondly becasue it was here where I had my first full contact LD with an Asian chick. I remember exploding in my pants, her stopping abrubtly after a minute noticing the damp spot she was grinding on no doubt, her asking me if I had come, me stupidly nodding "yeah", her hopping off in a huff.
Also went to the 6th ave, 22nd (i think) location once or twice. A bit seedier if I recall. Anyone know what's become of that piece of real estate now?

Damn 3 minute rule. It might be construed that I received my first LD in *that* bathroom. Assuredly that was *not* the case.

Church Street usually had more (and prettier) girls, but 22nd had the wilder ones ! Because the 22nd St location had less customers and girls, there were less watchful eyes around there. For awhile, especially when it was less crowded, like mid-afternoon, almost anything would be available: HJs, FS (you had to be relatively discreet of course) One night right before closing, I got a BJ in the ladies bathroom (for free, too, since the girl was a friend of mine). Those were the days ....
After Harmony left, 22nd street became the home of a Comedy troupe called (with unintended irony , I assume) "The Upright Citizens Brigade".. Amy Poehler of Saturday Night Live was a meber of this ensemble

Interestingly enough, Amy Poehler of SNL used to work at the Harmony, too.
But seriously . . .
Will NY ever be graced again with a place like the HC, or has its time come and gone? I spent far too much money on Tabu at the Church St. location, and she will forever hold a place near and dear to my heart as giving me an LD that caused me to soil myself, so to speak, which I had thought was impossible. Countless hours spent in the seats near the dressing room, hoping beyond hope that some theretofore unseen dancer would make her way out and I'd get my dirty little hands on her first. Toward the end I recall a Brazilian girl . . .Vivian? Used to allow any sort of touching while she was onstage, very hot. Ahh, yeah, those were the days.

ONce again a UG thread gets hijacked. Blue Angel has become the I Remember Harmony thread.
So, first, I read the Drew Barrymore story in a mainstream newspaper years ago. Blue Angel wasn't the Harmony, it got artsy fartsy floks. Went there two or three times mysefl.
I used to work near the Harmony in the 80s. Yes I remember Frenchy. I think he was retired and spent his days there like it was senior citzien center. I had a girl name Jennifer offer me fs there for 75 in a jammed pack theatre. I couldn't do it in such a public space. Before they moved to Church St they were in a loft on 17th Street near Union Square for a while. I have a fond memory of being lapped danced to completion (LDTC?) by a German blonde as we discussed the significance of the collapse of the Berlin Wall in 1989.
But I fondest memories of Church St. I remember Fifi, a really young, maybe 19 y.o. Hispanic girl, with pert tits, firm body, beautiful face, and the most incredible demeanor. "You gonna cum for me today?" she would say as she began to rub that snatch against my groin. My favorite was Margo, who I originally met when she was doing peep shows on Bway and 47th, before moving over to Harmony. God, I think I actually had a crush on her. Then there was Tina who gave me a wickedly cruel hj.
Once had a terrible experience at 22nd st location...place was raided by the cops ... it was a Sunday in May, don't remember the year. They arrested one of the customers...don't know what for, but I mean he was being handcuffed. They were taking the girls in too. They made the rest of us customers stand in line for what felt like a half hour while some sargeant frisked us one by one... Finally he said "you perverts get out of here." I ran to my car trembling, wondering what I would have told wifey if I had to call home to get bailed out...

Not to burst your bubble, but I knew Fifi, and she was a LOT older than she looked. Because she was petite (and it was kind of dark in there), she could look younger. She was probably in her late 30s , at least, at the time you met her. Fifi was very nice, I always liked to sit with her , always one of the most pleasant girls in the Harmony

This is my first post at UG- hope I don't blow it.
I went to both places every time I visited NYC in the late 90's (I'm from Maine), and I really really loved the Blue Angel. Beyond the whole echt-Weimar ambience, the LDs there were incredible. I just wish they'd served booze instead of ginger ale.
FWIW Drew Barrymore's famous breast flash on David Letterman came during a conversation where she was telling him that she went there and what it was all about.
And AFAIK the Harmony is all over "In the Cut", the thriller from about a year ago, starring Meg Ryan. I would swear that exteriors of the very Harmony-like club that appears in that film were filmed at the old Harmony location.

My daily commute took me past Harmony on Church for years and sometime after 2000 a smallish "burlesque" sign right out of central casting showed up on the exterior, second floor. I always wondered what that was about. I guess this explains it.

Is this by any chance the Fifi that is currently working here in NYC? She is Filapina/Chinese, I believe, petite and could be anywhere from 25 to 35. I find it difficult to believe she is old enough to have worked th Harmony.

Nope, it's not the same Fifi. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't enjoy her.
Tell us more about her.
