It would seem to me -- and granted, there are all sorts of variables -- that a woman who was attractive enough to be a porn star in the first place, and takes anything like good care of herself, and perhaps avails herself of some of the recent miracles of modern science, could still look pretty damn hot at 50. Not like a co-ed, nor like she did at the height of her film stardom, of course not: but why assume she's ready for the glue factory? Some people age amazingly well, so you can really never know...

She wasn't that attractive when she was younger... Only in the last 10-15 years since porn has become more mainstream and acceptable have better looking women gone into porn. Just think.... Most of us were whacking off to Seka and Linda Lovelace in the 70's and neither were what *I* would "hot". It wasn’t until the mid 80's with Amber and Ginger Lynn that the looks of women in porn started to vastly improve… and even they were nor Lexus or Taylor Hayes.

That, plus the fact that women who lead that life style (as with prostitutes) tend to have a much shorter life span before they hit that perverbial wall. Just look at what happened to Phantoms dear Tasha.... She may never have been a looker, but she looks like she hit that wall doing 60 mph.

In addition to having never been to a strip club, I've seen very little porn in my life -- I guess I just assumed that for all the fuss you guys make about porn stars, that they would be a better-than-average looking group of women. If not, fine -- but then why all the hoopla?

Probably the same reason prostitutes seem to get three extras points on any objective rating scale when people rate them in reviews: sexual availability (or, in the case of porn stars, willingness).

I mean, I don't look at much more porn than you do, but are any porn stars nearly as attractive as a mid-level mainstream starlet?

(Of course, you also have to consider the view of women that people who watch porn tend to have. Since many of them are so into women-as-objects, they tend to like people who are sort of like cartoony caracatures [I have no clue how to spell that word] of a woman. You know, the Pam Anderson syndrome.)

50 seems a lot younger to me than it did when I was 20 or even 30.

I was talking to someone the other day and said 'you know, I don't feel that different than I did when I was in college except for the arthritis'.

I think that depends, in large part, on what you expect "50" to look like. I'm still well away from the half-century mark, but my (very sexy) mother didn't suddenly morph into Edith Bunker on her 50th birthday, and I don't expect to either. That was my point; a lot of the stereotypes that we associate with certain chronolgical ages simply don't apply, automatically, the way they might have in a more traditional, hide-bound time, when a 50 year-old woman was supposed to be kind of frumpy, and being really hot and sexy would have been considered unseemly, at best...
