Last night, I was driving down 1-9 between the Lincoln and the Holland tunnel turnoffs. There are some pretty skanky motels on that strip. I could swear that I saw 3 street girls next to the Spinning Wheel motel. One in particular still sticks in my mind. As it was raining and I was speeding, I resisted the urge to slam the brakes. I looped around the circle and came back 15 minutes later. Nothing. Checked out 4 or 5 motels. Nothing. There did seem to be families in fulltime residence. I was thinking maybe these places get used as a shelter and therefore the residents may be part-timers. Wishful thinking?
